so I've been really busy lately with the new house and my woodworking projects. I haven't posted in forever! I thought I'd share my latest project. This is a redwood burl coffee table I made for our living room. It has 4 rosewood butterfly keys and a teak base. It's obviously in the style of George Nakashima, who's work I am amazed by. Here's the teak base by itself.
The mortises for two of the butterfly keys, which span a gap in the burl.
And the finished table...
Next I have a nakashima style walnut side table and a walnut trestle dining table I've started. After that I'm going to do a slatted headboard that goes all the way to the ceiling. Fun, fun!
