Did I say I was out of the "danger zone"?
Well I guess I'm not. Friday morning @ 12:30 am we had an awful scare, I woke up and discovered blood, franticly I woke up my husband and rushed to the ER. We didn't have to wait long to get a room, but waiting for an ultrasound seemed like it took a century! I was just laying there crying and I kept repeating 'I don't want to lose our baby' I'm glad that my husband does well at staying calm and he responded 'I know that it's easier said than done, but try to stay calm we are in the right place. I love you.'
Finally a Dr. came in to check me and asked if I had any abdominal pain I said 'NO' He said 'Well, that is a good sign, just hang tight and we will have you in ultrasound asap, it may take a few hours, but we will get you in and find out hat exactly is going on.' Two hours later we finally get moved (my first hospital bed ride ever) to the Ultrasound room. The technician keeps the monitor away as she first scans the pelvic region then starts to smile and turns it towards us. We were both happy to see that our little peanut was being a little wiggle worm, heart beat was great, we even saw it's tiny little brain. The technician said 'Everything looks good in the uterus so far, let's check your cervix.' Cervix looked great too!
Back to the room we came from and Dr. comes in, says he's going to make a phone call to the OBGYN and come back with answers. A few minutes later he came in and says, 'Well, I have good news! The baby is fine, you're not miscarrying, however you do have Placenta Previa.' He went on to explain my condition to us and ordered me on bed rest also to call my Dr. in the morning and schedule to see her.
I get to see the Dr. today and am hoping to get the okay to return back to work tomorrow, being on bed rest 5 days in a row is pretty boring, I could imagine what it's like for people who have had to be on bed rest for a longer period of time.... my heart goes out to you!. I was ordered by her on Friday to not workout, or have sex until we find out how I'm doing on my 19 week ultrasound. Now that SUCKS, my husband looks like Brad Pitt and it's hard not to jump his bones sigh, I know it's all for the best.
