I've been listening to songs proclaiming a desire for Peace on Earth
one was the winter wonderful Stevie Wonderful "Someday at Christmas"
when "Men won't act like boys, playing with bombs
like kids play with toys"
and I wondered if there was ever an American president
who didn't killed more innocent people than Charles Manson
some of you know I long proclaimed my love for the handsome constitutional law professor from chicago
i walked the walk in the nevada and california primaries
i talked the talk to whoever would listen
i hung on polls like a stripper
but with drones killing the poorest of children on God's grey earth
my love for Barack is dulled
and while that won't make me vote for Kusinich or Nader again,
suffice to say my hopes of change
are replaced by the old feeling about the lesser of two evils
