So, the smoke has finally cleared enough for me to take a (too short) break and recharge a bit. I've not been around too much lately -- I just finished directing three operas in a row, and that's been rather time-consuming. Well, technically the last two operas were one-acts and part of a Double-Bill, but that still meant two large and complicated shows that had to be rehearsed simultaneously. I'd go into more detail, but honestly I'm tired of thinking about it. Of course, now that I have some time off, what do I do to unwind? Start research on a new project, that's what. It is a welcome departure, though -- for the first time in a few years, I'm going to be performing in a show again, rather than directing. I've missed acting -- missed being responsible only for my part, rather than the entire production. Admittedly, I will be co-producing this play as well, so I will be supervising some technical elements, but it's going to be a fucking vacation compared to directing an opera. The role I'm preparing? Orson Welles. Don't laugh.
Hope you are all well.
