The weather around here is seriously messed up. Last week, it was cold and wintery, with a little rain and snow here and there. Now, it's sunny and warm -- the high has been in the upper 60s. Very un-February like weather. I suppose I shouldn't complain, as I'm getting to sit outside at a coffee shop right now, but I can't help but wait for the other shoe to drop, as it were.
In other news, my car got towed last night. I had gone to see a show my theatre group was putting on, and when I came out, my car was gone. I had parked in what had always been a safe lot for that location, and they have apparently just recently started cracking down on their lot. So, I had to take a cab at 11:30 at night over to the impound lot and fork over $100 (that I didn't really need to spend) to get my car back. It was my own stupid fault for not looking at the signs, but it kind of sucked all the same. Oh well.
And now I sit here, wondering if I'll actually be able to do anything fun this weekend before I fall off the face of the earth on Monday. We start opera rehearsals again soon, which means 14 hour days for the next three weeks solid.
Meanwhile, I had coffee last night with a young friend of mine (post-towing incident). She cheated on her girlfriend of three years, causing a nasty breakup, and she's kind of messed up about it, with the guilt and conflicting euphoria over her new freedom. I did my best to comfort her while making sure she knew what she'd done wrong -- she's only 21, so her freakout and need to be wild and free is understandable, despite the unfortunate way she went about it. Apparently, she's left the girlfriend (whom I adore) for a much older "crazy sex tigress" (her words). I struggled to be the wise, older brother figure, but it was kind of hard after she told me that she'd love it if I fucked her new girl while she watched...And now, I am plagued with dirty thoughts about my cute lesbian friend.
What a week.
(wow -- I think that's the longest journal I've written on here.)
