It is some silly time in the morning (7.30am) - and I mean that for me in my world , and my brain wouldn't shutdown after getting up to get a drink(been up since 4.45am) Done alot in a few hours mainly household things - cleaned up the kitchen, bathroom, popped some washing on yawny stuff, but got to be done (less to do later )
Yesterday evening helped out on the Brand Violet video. First time I have heard the band & they are great live - best way to check out most artists for me Hard to pin them down into one genre (which is a good thing)They have a definate rock 50's feel about them edgy, hard & sweet all at the same time. Sally's soprano vocal is ace - reminds me a bit of Clare Grogan (if anyone remembers her)sweet, dirty, misty sense to her voice. And the band and she gel so well together, definately want to go to some more gigs .
I was actually there to help out anntenna, with the video he's making for Brand Violet and Creamy Goodnes aka Poppa Creamy & brainfreeze, were there too We had fun & I got to nore on brainfreezeneck (Thanks Hun ). I hope it comes out well, be good to see it out there. I'm glad I went Thanks anntenna
So for the rest of my day I will be doing a mixture of fun stuff & chores . Picking up my photos from Wednesday nights event - Common Threads. Put together by Alex Pascall & Deirdre Pascall. When I showed up & realised who it was, I got such a
Alex Pascall OBE is a promient muscian, dj & all round wonderful rep for the carribbean community. He use to present on GLR & was one of the first (if not The first radio dj to do so). Found out (from my mum)that my dad had work with him sometime back - even more of a surprise. So it was great to work with him & his family & I hope I get the oppotunity to do some more in the future - that will depend on the prints & how they come out. I'm glad I chased it up, as I wasn't going to but then thought it would be good to take photos of a show, get my hand in & get some experience doing that. It was good if not a little hectic. Meeting Deirdre for lunch on tuesday (cross fingers all is well). I think I will have to get a 200mm lens for the next one though & a flash gun would be great. I like the upfront close up stuff, but not so easy to do for performance stuff like that.
It's been a good week although my back is sore & I'm tired - but hey still got the weekend to come. First SGUK Meet for me & I'm glad I know a few people who are going Bye for now
