So here comes the mythical new blog!
Howdy, how are you all? I can't exactly remember what it was that I was going to tell you all so we'll just have to suffer through a recap wont we.
And I apologise in advance if this is a bit long winded.
Well where do we start? I started going for a run with Amanda after work once or twice a week, I wasn't sure how I was going to go with it as I have not run since I was in high school which was ten years ago now. I used to be quite good at both short and long distance events, but that was a long time ago now so I was unsure as to how I would hold up. So our first run came up and I nailed it, Amanda took me on a 5k circuit around our suburb with a fairly sizeable hill involved and somehow against all odds I, the pack a day smoker who hasn't run in a decade was the first home, who knew right? So we go for another run the following week, taking the same route we roll through the suburbs again, and I managed to beat her home again by a good few minutes, and Amanda isn't a slob, she plays netball once a week, two games of touch footy amongst running and everything else, so she is pretty damn fit. Anyway, after some playful joking and gentle ribbing across the week the time comes up for our third run and I know the route this time, so I just go for it to see what happens, well I'd lost her by the top of the hill (which is the first 1.5km) and power home to beat her by a good 10 min, so let me tell you the whole quit and get healthy thing is looking very sketchy now.
And now it's late and I must sleep, so goodnight for now I will finish that story soon
