Clay bar to the rescue!!!!
Like I suspected it was mostly a scuff. Washed up the door and then applied magic clay bar goodness to it. No more scuffs!
Got some sap/tar/bug remover and took off a bunch of wads of sap sitting on the hood too.
I didn't wash up all that thoroughly as I was more interested in taking the contaminants off the car then getting it looking good. When I look past the grime she's looking mighty fine though.
