I would say I really only have one addiction in life. I'm not terribly ashamed of it, however.

Every time I start to feel down, every time I start to shamble toward despair, I dig out a little movie called the Shawshank Redemption. This is, bar none, my favorite movie, because I can watch it, time and again, and it will always evoke the same magic for me.

Despite the trials and tribulations which life trips me up with, it goes on, and so do I. Upon reflection I find that more often than not my hope was well founded, and that had I given into despair I would not be in the wonderous place I am today.

I hope that I will make good on my promises to my father.

I hope that I will once again snare my Artemis.

I hope that this wonderous cosmos continues to smile on me.

I hope I can continue to do right by those which I am lucky enough to share this life with.
