I have a king sized water bed.
I'm rather fond of the thing, except during a little ritual some of you might be familiar with, called changing the sheets.
You see, a water bed is filled with water, and a king size water bed is filled with much water. The dimensions of my particular bed are 70" by 82" by 7.5". Filled with water.
If you do the math, this is roughly forty-three thousand cubic inches of water which I sleep on at night and wrestle with when changing the sheets, like a giant corpulant amoeba. 43 thousand cubic inches is roughly seven hundred thousand cubic centimeters, which equates to roughly seven hundred thousand grams. Seven hundred thousand grams comes out to one thousand, five hundred and fifty-five pounds.
Of water.
That I must maneuver in order to change the sheets.
I am not possessed of the best back, as the longevity of one's back is inversely proportional to one's height, but upon changing the sheets I am especially pleased to have such a comfortable device to snooze upon.
