Hey SG Land!
Thanks to @missy @rambo @lyxzen one of our recent blog topics was "What Made You Feel Good This Week?" and I'm happy to say that I finally FINALLY have my Associate's Degree. I also started classes back at a university and only have a couple of semesters left until I get my Bachelor's in Psychology. I've really decided to push myself and finish the last of my nursing prereq's as well.
Another thing that I feel awesome about is that my surgery is finally over and I'm recovering well. This break from work, which sucks financially, has been really good for my mental health as well as physical. I've had the chance to focus on a lot that I've been putting on the back burner. It's also given me a chance to do a little traveling and I'll be in Reno this weekend! I've never been to Lake Tahoe so I'm pretty stoked on that. Next month, I should be back in Vegas for a weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with @CDO and @Jaxy and finally get together with @Oliviablack :)
Speaking of Vegas, my set with @CDO is finally up in Member Review.
As some of you may know, every time I have a set come in to MR I like to reminisce on the journey it took to get to that set. I've been a hopeful since 2008, but I've been around on the site since 2006. My first submitted set was before MR was around, I'm not even sure if Second Chance Sunday was a thing yet.
This set was shot by @sawa in Los Angeles. It was shot shortly after I turned 18 and it was my first time ever being naked in front of a camera, which you can definitely tell. I don't have images from the whole set, but I did put the ones I do have in that album.
I took a break for a few years and then worked with @lorelei before I moved to Alaska. The first came out in 2008. This set has some of my favorite photos of me ever taken. We shot in Joshua Tree National Park, which is near and dear to me because it's in the desert I grew up in, the Mojave.
The second came out in 2009. It was also shot in Joshua Tree, but at a friend's house. This set was themed after one of my favorite Bob Dylan songs, "One More Cup of Coffee." It was appropriate because this set was one of the last things I did before my move to Alaska.
After both sets came out, I took a rather long break and ended up removing both from MR. Finally I decided to shoot again in 2013 when the lovely @alissa came in to town. My set Forecast hit MR this time last year. It's the only set I have with light hair and I loved the feel of the set. @radeo styled my hair and make up. She also chose an awesome playlist to shoot to. Overall, shooting this set was an awesome time and really encouraged me to be active with the site again.
Last year, I finally got a chance to work with the amazing @sunshine and we made The Warmth which hit MR in July. It was shot at the end of summer, which is why I'm both sunburnt and tan. I got the chance to meet some of the awesome Florida girls during this shoot and had a lot of fun. You can also see the progress of my arm cover up in this set compared with the last one.
This brings me to my sixth and newest set in MR, Rouse Yourself. This was shot by the awesome @CDO on a trip to Vegas last year. My arm cover up was finished by then and I had just gotten my favorite tattoo to date: the goat lady on my thigh. I think my favorite part of all these sets is watching my tattoo progress. I'm finally getting all the "18 year old spontaneous decision" tattoos covered up with pieces that I love.
The name of this set is inspired by this song:
The last three sets I mentioned are still in MR and I'd love if you checked them out. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this, I love sharing this journey with you all.
xoxo
