hey there beloved girls, boys and animals! straight to the point: many of you ask what do i work with, and i thought it would be funny showing a side you NEVER thought it could actually be real. so, what most of people often think is that as a model, i work integraly with photography, but that's no true! (sometimes it includes photography, but i'll explain it, just reaaad!).
in fact, i'm a event producer at car competition events. and as a math person, my job is mostly administrative and financial, even though it expands on more than just spreadsheets and bills. i set all the organisation event logistics, including flights, accomodation and car rent, but also i make contrats with all providers, including for publicity/marketing, operation and technique area... by that, you guys can see i need to know all about all the spetacle. it sure is a lot of pressure: i'm the youngest and most alternative professional there, so i faced a LOT of prejudice at the beginning. also, the fact of being a model + working with sensual photography was brought to the table constantly (and we know people are sometimes kind of sensitive of seeing women’s body), so i was going to loose my job for being... myself! but you see, i showed to all of them that i'm really capable of being at that role; that my team support me and see that i have a bright side... my superior was super OK with that because even though i could be young + crazy + shameless (LOL) i‘m still damn smart and clever and a good professional. sorry, not sorry.
(that’s the main team, but as a event, we have more than 400 people involved! 🙀)
i can't say it's all sunny for the fact that my workplace and sometimes the pressure and ammount of responsabilities make me go insane. i've been working a lot, specially during quarantine, and i see it consumes most of my time and mental health; at the same time, i grew so much since i work there, i know i can do much more and i know we go through some strange times, so that keeps me with the eyes focused on the prize.
the funniest days are when i travel to different cities to make part of the organisation, like, on racetracks! i went to different places here on Brazil, and i could even be a passenger on a touring car! and i talk a lot to different people, including people on my crew... and photographers too! that's why i said my work ALSO involved photography... LOL SORRY FOR THE BAIT!
(that was at Cascavel Racetrack, in Cascavel city, Paraná. i entered this track for riding and also at José Carlos Pace Racetrack, mostly known as Interlagos Racetrack, on São Paulo. that is the BEST track, so soft at more than 200km/h! 🤤)
anyway, i don't know how things will work from now on and as a strategyc person i see that events area will spend some time working on how to readapt... but that somehow excites me and at the end, i guess it's gratifying to learn each day and also have fun! but i'll make sure to keep you guys informed, ok?
xo,
Svetlanna
