You are now the 4th person I know who's birthdate is January 8th: my best friend - Lindy, my mate - Keiron, The King (but I'm sure you knew that already!), & now you
Thx for offering to take my pix! I am very flattered. But there are just one or two questions / favours I need to ask:
1. You say your hometown is Jozi, but that you're "currently in London". So what does that actually mean? Are you here or there? Or a bit of both?! (I hope the latter, & you'll see why during the next paragraph...)
2. Do you seriously drive a Vanquish?!? Because if so, then you are definitely the man I need to speak to re: that rather pricey set of Agent Provocateur lingerie I want to wear for my first SG set (see today's journal entry). After all, a man who can afford to drive an Aston Martin can surely afford to buy a girl a bra (36A) & a pair of knickers (large), right
Yeah, yeah, call me a sycophantic slag if you will, but the Rand / Pound exchange is as frightening as always, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!
Anyway, onto other matters: It seems you & my better half, Lee, have quite a bit in common...
a) His ultimate dream car is an Aston Martin. (He currently drives a black Honda Accord - S Type). Were you here at the recent
launch of the Aston Martin showroom in Sandton? It looked / sounded like quite an awesome affair.
b) He also met Dave Gahan - while he was working at Segaworld in London back in '96 / '97. Quite surprisingly, none of the Pommies who worked there knew who the hell Dave Gahan was, so Lee actually got the honour of spending a full day with the man & his son - giving them as many free games & rides as their hearts desired
Oh, well, guess I'd better get back to work now Lemme know 'bout getting hold of that AP lingerie & setting up a date for a shoot, 'kay?
Um, I've just had a look at a posting by Missy in the SG Hopefuls Group, & when it comes to using a new photographer, she has some serious recommendations:
1. The model should check her prospective photographer's references & portfolio first.
2. The model should email the photographer a few of her favourite SG photos as examples of the style she likes, & the type of message she would want her own set to portray about her personality etc. He needs to let her know if he can execute this style & standard of work, or not.
3. The initial meeting between model & photographer should always happen in a public place.
4. The model should always bring a friend along to the shoot - even if he/she just sits in the other room - it is better to have someone around that you know & trust, just in case.
And finally, she warns:
"NO OFFICIAL SG PHOTOGRAPHER WILL EVER ADVERTISE OR E-MAIL YOU SOLICITING THEIR SERVICES. WE DO NOT HAVE RECRUITERS."
______________________________________
That all said, I'm prepared to overlook the fact that you did actually mail me direct, solicitating your photographic services
I'm sure you can understand, however, that I will be needing to see a handful of references, plus your portfolio, before we can take this any further.
