its sooooo cooooolllddd!! we havn't had a proper heater in our house for the whole winter. we've been pretty lucky in the fact it's maybe been cold off and on, but today ... there is no god in heaven, yeow it's just that cold!!! well at least for austin texas it's cold. i have three space heaters on and the oven going full blast but this only helps so much, as does booze. it also doesn't help my girl is out of town for the next two days so i can't share her heat or presuade her into "staying warm".
anyhow i'm kinda in a depression. work has seemed to have gotten all shitty on me. Just as i was really feeling comfortable with my skills and what not. so past couple days the General Manager got fired for missing work and doing too much blow, one of the other sushi chefs put his two weeks in, and the executive sushi chef as well as the executive chef are both bound to get fired or quit which ever comes first. i don't know. the only thing left to do is stay warm, buzzed, and listen to sad old bastard music, like nick cave, neutral milk hotel, the national, johnny cash, the black heart procession, the yeah yeah yeah's "modern romance", and so on and so on.
cheers

I was working in Lubbock for two weeks right after Christmas and the temps were like 17 Low and 45 high... and I wore just a t-shirt, while the locals were in heavy coats. It was a welcome break for me. But, perspective on cold is something you have to get used to. I work outside quite a bit and that helps (however when it gets down to 60 in September I'm in a coat after getting used to 90's in July and August).
Hope your girl gets home to keep you warm soon, and hang on at work for a while. You never know what will happen in a restaraunt (spent about 7 years in 'em) each is its own crazy little world.
