ok so this sucks. my grandfather has colon cancer, and they actually weren't too worried about it. he just had 2 small tumors, it hadnt spread, so yeha. simle surgery and he'll be fine. the problem is that years of smoking and drinking (althouh he hasnt done either in about 20 years) have definetly caught up to him and he had a mild heart attack during the surgery. he also had another one a few years ago. so now he's in critical condition and my mom is flying out to alabama, basically to say goodbye. so definetly no mother's day bbq today. i wish i could go to alabama with her. i didnt know my other grandparents very well, and i knew my aunt, but that was different, we were all just so grateful when she died cuz she really wasnt doing very well for a long time. but i am fairly close to my grandfather, and i would like to see him one more time. at least he's home in alabama with all his sisters and his old girlfriend from hs (how cute is that! they broke up in hs, got married to other people, got widowed/divorced, he moved back to alabama, and now it's true love ). anyway. if anyone is near bakersfield in the next few weeks you should check out the rocky horror show at bakersfield community theatre. the guy playing brad kicks butt.
fauxton:
sorry about your grandfather. I lost one of mine a couple years ago and it was tough. It was quick too. We didn't really see it coming.
