yeah, so i'm back. They kept sending me messages giving me good offers and shit, so I decided that it's only $30 and I spend more than that on fruit flies. *shrug* so, hmm....
Thanks to all my friends who actually kept me on their list! That's awesome. I'm sure it was more laziness than anything else, but still, I appreciate it dammit!
I'm still working at the Olive Garden. Good times. Kinda. I had to go complain to our district manager about our general manager, but it's getting better, so that's good. I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon anyway, unless I get the job at CALM. CALM is a local zoo type place that only has animals found in California, or animas that they've rescued from somewhere else. It's pretty nifty. I applied to be an animal keeper there a couple months ago and got a rating fof 6, so they have to go through 5 more people and then I'll get the job. The ranking is used for a year, so yeah! I'm hoping they call me soon.
I have more animals than ever. Right now I'm up to 4 cats, 3 reed frogs, 4 dart frogs, 9 mantella frogs (soon to be more, I'm getting some next month), 1 snake, 1 newt, 2 geckos (crested and viper), 2 turtles (red eared slider and western pond) and a mouse. I think that's it.... It's very fun. Matthew (my bf) hates it, but whatever, he puts up with it kinda, so it's ok. I had to bribe him into letting me get more frogs though. The thing is, they're pretty rare species that aren't being captive bred and are only imported once every couple of years, so I had to take advantage of it. Besides, part of the reason that they aren't imported very often is that they can't sell them for very much. One of the species is $35 a frog, the other is $55, which is actually fairly cheap. Dart frogs that dont come in very often are closer to $350. So yeah. I still love darts, but I'd really rather focus on getting a captive bred group set up of some more species of mantellas. Yup.
Our family dog bit my nephew yesterday. The dog is a big german shepard/ rot mix who weighs about 80lbs. My nephew is almost 2 years old. He went to lay on the dogs belly while the dog was sleeping, just like he always does, and usually the dogs like it, but this time he startled the dog and got bit in the face. It took 28 stitches and he's going to have to meet with a plastic surgeon in a couple months cuz he's missing a chunk of skin near his eye. Thankfully his eye itself wasn't hurt, and he'll be completely ok. My sister is freaked out though and we're not sure what to do with the dog. He's about 13 years old and getting grumpy, and with everyone in our family having babies (except me), we're kinda nervous. So we'll see how that goes.
Umm...... I'm getting desperatly tired of Bakersfield. I need to move somewhere, or at least go on a nice long trip. I feel like driving. Some good friends of me and my boyfriend just moved to TN and I wanted to go with them, but Matthew wouldn't. They were disappointed. Still, they were whining about how horrible the 30 hour drive was and I'm totally jealous. I love long drives like that. THe best thing was when I was dating a guy who lived 8 hours away. I'd drive to see him every weekend. I loved it. Too bad he was an asshole. Well, I mean, not really too bad cuz I love my boyfriend and he's amazing and wonderful and it's been almost 10 months! Tha'ts actually my longest relationship. We've been living together officially for about 6 months, and unofficially for about 4 months before then. And yes, that math is right. We're both equally needy, so it works quite well.
I think that's just about it. I'm gonna go change my profile now, cuz it's kinda outdated. Hi everyone!!!
