After seeing @chef 's latest blog post, I realized that I've been very guilty of allowing my brain weasels to convince me that no one wants to hear what I have to say, and just crossposting from Instagram to here, which is NOT what I necessarily want to do. Yes, it puts content on my page, but doesn't really prompt a real conversation half the time. Not to say that I don't appreciate all of your comments, because I really do. Sometimes that's the only interpersonal communication I have with someone outside of my husband for days. That being said, let's jump into a real blog. I don't really know what to talk about, so I'm going to look to the blog homeworks and questionnaires going around for inspiration.
What's my favorite season, you ask? Fall/Autumn and winter. I absolutely adore the colors, smells and overall feel of the fall season. The vegetables that are in season then are absolutely delicious. I love squash, particularly when cooked with butter and brown sugar. Mmm, I'm making myself hungry. I also look forward to being able to wear my warmer hoodies & sweaters and stuff like that, because the chilly weather makes me snuggle up closer with my husband and furkids. That's also why I have two favorite seasons, honestly.
My other favorite season is winter. There are a few reasons for this as well, and a lot of cross-over from fall to winter. One, my seasonal allergies FINALLY go into hibernation with the first snow (that sticks to the ground that is) until the first thaw the next spring. I love how the colorful Christmas lights glow under the snow, the beautiful serenity of unbroken snowfall and the hush that falls over the world. I love decorating for Christmas. I want to get more into decorating for Thanksgiving and Halloween the way I get into Christmas, but it's hard when you're not making ends meet very well. I inherited most of my Christmas decorations, which my parents and I spent decades gathering together as I grew up. I think that might be why I'm so into Christmas and the Christmas spirit...it brings back memories of happier times as we make those kinds of memories of our own.
In other non-homework news, I find myself looking for a new job, since the credit consultant thing didn't really work out. I've got applications in quite a few places, and interviewed at a few that I would love to work for. Now I'm just waiting to hear back. Wish me luck? Also, color me curious, but who's your favorite football team? As seen above, I'm an Oakland Raiders girl. ;)
xoxo,
