So this week's blog homework from @rambo and @missy is to drop 10 fast facts! Here goes:
1- Despite the date on my profile page, I've actually been around since 2012, when I was accepted as a hopeful. :) Prior to that, I think I'd applied like maybe 10 times? Best guess is that my application photos weren't the greatest of quality at the time. I'd been trying to get onto SG as a hopeful since I was 18. I'm now in my 30s.
2- I'm a mom! I know I don't talk a lot about her necessarily on here. That's because I value her privacy. Nothing against y'all, but I'm also cautious when it comes to her. I'm also a cat-mom, to 6 loving and exasperating felines. Between them and the Minion, I swear privacy for me is a lost cause.
3- The hubster is also on SG! He's super supportive of me, and is the one who encouraged me to apply again in 2012 after I'd given up hope. You can find him at @4get2remember, but he's not very active right now, since his sub fell off and with one thing and another we've not gotten around to getting it reactivated.
4- I'm a serious bookworm. One of my favorite things to do is curl up with a hot drink, a soft kitty and a good book. It's probably why I <3 @libris so much. She reminds me of me. Only better. And of course A likes to tease me about my hoard of books.
5- At the moment, I'm semi-retired from modeling, due to a bad experience with a boudoir photographer. However, I've recently decided not to let some douchecanoe ruin something I enjoy, and started talking with photographers about shooting more sets for SG. This is going to be my year, I can feel it. ;)
6- I finally found another hopeful in my area, and though we've not talked very much (yet) I already like her a lot. Plus, I'm totally psyched that someone else is near me that I can talk to about SG from a hopeful's perspective! If you haven't already checked her out, you should. @shayxo is amazeballs. I can't wait for her set to drop.
7- I'm a diehard Lord of the Rings/Hobbit fan, and despite the differences between the books and movies, I adore them both. The same goes for Harry Potter. And the new Wrinkle in Time movie? I can't wait to see it! If you ask me to choose between Star Wars and Star Trek, I can't. It's too hard. Carrie Fisher and Leia are my spirit animals. I've got a miniature shrine almost to Carrie/Leia in our room.
8- Speaking of collecting things, I collect a LOT of stuff. Mostly Funkos. We've run out of room to put them all, and have started to have to stick them in a big box until we've made more room. Between A and I, we have collectible items EVERYWHERE. I've got Cap's shield living in the closet next to Kylo Ren's lightsaber, while a giant Gjallarhorn sits next to his side of the bed. So as you can see, we're total nerds. (yes, this is actual size of the thing.)
9- I've recently started exercising more and changing my diet. This goes hand-in-hand with being a nerd, for me, because I'm part of Hogwarts Running Club. We do six running events a year and partner with a different charity for each one. I find myself more motivated if I have a concise goal and know it's helping others. Maybe that's the Slytherin in me, but I'm also super competitive. ;) It doesn't hurt that when the weather is nice, I have gorgeous views to explore.
10- At present, unlike many of the girls here, I don't have a lot of tattoos (yet). I do have a quarter/half-ish sleeve that's been in progress for quite some time. I'm hoping that we can finish that this summer, when we visit Denver to see family. That's the priority for ink, and after that, I've a few other ideas that I want to get done. But first, this. The last part is coloring in the lilacs, and it's the most important to me, because one part of the lilacs will be done in blue, for Dad. As much as I've wanted to get more tattoos over the years that this has been in progress, it's always taken precedence because of who it's for.
So there you have it, ten quick facts about myself. For the most part, I'm an open book. ;) Feel free to ask questions.
xoxo
