Our @bloghomework for this week from @rambo @missy and @lyxzen is to tell about our worst Valentine's Day ever...to tell you the truth, I have a hard time remembering how my past Valentine's Days have gone. I've never really been big into the holiday, and neither has anyone I've dated. About the only one I think that qualifies was in my senior year of high school.
I was living in Colorado at the time, and seeing a therapist for depression. I'd actually only seen this person once and they immediately prescribed a variety of different drugs for depression, insomnia etc. The first day I started taking all the different drugs, I immediately ran into a problem. The therapist hadn't bothered to find out or look to see if any of them would interact in a bad way. Turns out, just about all of them were NOT recommended if taking one of the others. That bad interaction actually caused my depression to spiral downward, leading to a few actions I'm not proud of. I'm amazed that I'm still here today, considering some of them. (I'm being intentionally vague, so as not to trigger those like myself.)
So that was my worst Valentine's Day ever. If things had turned out differently, I wouldn't be here today and the date on my headstone would read February 14, 2005. However, I still firmly believe that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. In my case, it's made me better able to handle some of the shit life has thrown my way.
On the other hand, I have to say that I don't really have any one particular best Valentine's day story, because I can't pick one out of the amazing days I have with my awesome husband @4get2remember . We're both not really huge in celebrating V-day, but believe in showing our love 365 days a year not just one day out of the year. Doesn't mean we don't enjoy the chocolate deals this time of year, but that's different haha. Besides, we prefer to do the big celebrations in March, since that's when our anniversary falls. ;)
Thanks for reading guys!
xoxo,
