Tomorrow will be the rarest of the rare: a day off from work in which travel is not a factor. Getting a new tire and having my oil changed is pretty pedestrian stuff, but I'm meeting a friend for vegan donuts and coffee. For some reason, a leisurely sugarfest seems all the better when it happens on a weekday.
In three years of attending SIFF movies, I've become accustomed to the trajectory and, like usual, I'm getting a bit tired after approximately 20 movies since mid-May. The problem isn't in tiring of the movies---it's my inability to make free time to follow my usual patterns.
When e-mailing lists send me exhortations to write in for support of a given cause, a certain futility seems to come to mind. My Congressman and Senators are usually dependable to supporting ideas with which I generally agree, but the depressing spectre of consolidated (and ill-achieved) Republican power never really goes away from mind. Fuck.
Minor as it may be, the end of the NHL lockout would certainly be nice to witness.

yep. I've already taken over 300 pics in 2 days. It'll take me a while to figure out all the bells and whistles.
