San Diego is an eminently pleasant city. Its temperate climate and proximity to the ocean are, in my mind, legitimate reasons for its popularity. That said, the city really does seem to be a bit lacking in identity. I had a good time there, but SF and LA are much more interesting cities to visit.
That said, I did get a great tip from a SG about Pokez, a vegan-friendly Mexican eatery. The tofu, potato, and mushroom burrito was VERY good.
I didn't get much of a chance to see the Academy Awards, but, really, I'm happy about that. Chris Rock seemed to be restrained, the phoniness of the celebrities was out in full force (Jamie Foxx did a good job with "Ray", but he seems to cry on cue EVERY TIME when he speaks about his grandmother), and the selections were predictably lame ("Million Dollar Baby" was not THAT good).
