So, just got back from Sexybeast's Mardi Gras / Birthday party. He and his lovely wife urblueygrl are the ultimate hosts, putting out enough food, drink and party favors for three party's worth of fun. They're what the kids call 'good peeps.'

I had a wonderful time, even though I'm currently dry-docked. I decided three weeks ago to lay off the booze for at least a month or so. I'm trying to lose some weight and otherwise ponder my drinking. I've had a few disconcerting drinking experiences in my life, one too many of them in the last few months.

In other news, I will be heading to Winnipeg on Thursday to see my Canadian girlfriend. According to the weather report, it's approximately -20 degrees with the windchill. Call me Surlycicle.
