so night court went pretty well. i got up in front of the judge, he asked me if i was guilty of speeding, i said "yes", he told me how much i would have to pay, i paid it, and i was done. pretty easy.

i'm currently in korea, typing this from a very small apartment in the old part of Seoul. i left los angeles at 1am on Saturday and got here at 5:30am on Sunday, as i crossed the international date line. i lost a day, but i'll get it back on the return flight. i'm also very tired, as i'm attempting to stay up to kick-start my clock into local time in an attempt to subvert jetlag.

korea is pretty cool so far. my guide is from the US but speaks fluent Korean, so she can help me pay for stuff and tell me how to say "thank you", which is about as far as i've gotten so far.

we'll probably be going to several places in Korea - an island on the west coast for a night, maybe the DMZ, and then Japan and Okinawa. i'm also going to be eating a lot of really delicious food and some absolutely stellar sushi (hi, corriander ).

i'm taking lots of photos and will post a lot of them as i process them, and i'll update this journal with more of my thoughts and impressions and whatnot as they occur to me. or maybe i'll just post lots of pictures of my butt.
