Update time! Still in DC. My diet here has mostly consisted of frappucinos, slices of reduced fat cinnamon swirl coffee cake (the reduced fat is not a draw for me, it just happens to taste better than the regular coffee cake), and Chicago-style bacon cheeseburger thin crust pizzas. Every once in a while I will break the monotony by injecting some sort of pork product or breakfast food into the mix.
I think I can get away with this because I'm doing a fuckload of walking. And by "a fuckload", I mean a lot. I walked maybe 8 miles (half of it uphill) to Capital Hill a few days ago, and I was hopelessly lost for about 4 hours the other night, which also involved lots of walking (and swearing).
You know the feeling you get in your hands when you smack an aluminum baseball bat on concrete? That's kinda how my legs feel at the moment. It doesn't exactly hurt, but it's also creeping me out a little that I can actually feel the muscles moving around in there when I walk. Maybe this is normal for people who are "in shape"?
So there's that. Two other interesting/amusing updates:
I am currently consuming my lunch (frapp + coffee cake), and I needed a fork. The only fork available in my hotel room (the others being in the dishwasher) is this monstrosity:
Also, I got a new case for my iPod in the mail today. It's wicked cool. Black and red leather, and the cover over the click wheel is like a vinyl record. The only problem is that it scratched the holy fuck out of my iPod when I slid it in, so now I can never take it out. Except that I have to take it out every single time I want to use the camera connector, coz the cutout in the bottom of the case is too small. Ah well. It's still wicked. Here, look:

p.s.: Kidney Thieves rule.
