i'm eating cheez whiz for the first time in about 15 years. posh, d20, and i are doing some research and experiments to debunk the myth that cheez whiz is in fact spreadable velveeta. well, i should clarify...posh and i are doing the debunking, d20 insists it's true.
so the first thing i notice immediately upon putting my knife into the jar is that they have changed the formula since 1989. back then, it was quite thick...almost like cream cheese (not exactly, but similar). it seems it is much thinner, less viscous now. i couldn't even make a nice coating on my toast. it just sort of blobbed around. why did they do this? i can see how it could be considered more "spreadable", but this is cheez whiz dammit...i want it to be sculptable!
as a result of this change, i couldn't get enough on my toast to get a true impression of it. i may have to go in with a spoon.
