I hate researching a job to find out that you need experience for it but you can't get experience unless they hire you. When I get back from vacation I'm going to get (or try to at least) certified to become a phlebotomist. In most cases they like you to have an AA in medical terminology or something equivilant. But you can get certified without it if you are good at what you do.
I want to become a phlebotomist not because it's what I want to do for the rest of my life but because it will help me figure out what the hell i want to do. I'm toying with the idea of going to med school and pursuing a career as a doctor, but I'm still undecided. For years I thought I wanted to be a psychologist but the material sort of bores the shit out of me. So that plans over and now I'm sort of floating. Taking some classes in everything and figuring it out.
I've always loved science and was pretty good at it. A little above average, so not great, but I did enjoy learning about it for the most part. I also do good with gore, can stand to look at it and all.
Didn't this entry start with me rambling about needing experience?
Anyways, so I looked up some hospitals that are currently hiring phlebos to see what other criteria i may need and they want you to have 6 mos prior experience working in a hospital and I just have one queston. Does volunteering count? Cuz I have a year of that shit.
Oh and I will post a profile pic sooner or later. Currently I don't have the internet on my computer so I'm usnig my mom's comptuer and I don't have my camera software uploaded on her computer. It's a whole viscious cycle.
