Given the events of the last few days, I would like to amend my earlier comments.
After careful consideration of the Motley Crue collection that's been on constant rotation in my car since purchase, I would like to specify that their body of work would condense into a one disc retrospective that would stand as an equal to any and all comers. If the best ten-to-fifteen tracks out of the Crue compendium doesn't rock you to your very soul, then you may simply not be capable of being rocked. Seriously - take "Doctor Feelgood", "Wild Side", "Primal Scream", "Same Old Situation", and "Girls, Girls, Girls" and whattayagot? That's right, my children - you've got rawk and fucking roll in its purest grade.
But two CDs? That's pushing it, guys. Seriously, "Planet Boom" barely ranks among Tommy Lee's greatest work. Why is it taking up space on a Crue collection? Boom over here, boom over there, boom everywheeeeeeeeere? No, son. More like 'boom back the fuck over on the shelf while I pull out some Soundgarden'.
ANYHOO.
I went out and bought that Metallica documentary today. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Metallica (and I was in the very small crew of people on their side when they called out Shawn Fanning for being a little criminal shitbag - not that I'm bitter), but have never been a big fan of their music. Sure, I like a couple of records - mainly the ones that you're not supposed to like if you're a 'true' fan. But by and large... meh.
Still, the documentary sounded fascinating. I'm looking forward to watching it, but was absolutely shocked to see emblazoned on the case that it is presented in its ORIGINAL SHOOTING RATIO of 4:3. Seriously - who the fuck shoots anything in 4:3? If I made homemade porn it would be widescreen and mixed in surround at this stage. (It would also be telephoto, but I'm comfortable with my inadequacies.)
Seriously, guys.
Seriously.
And whilst at the Future Shop (and waching some lunkhead nearly get into a fight with the counterperson which was pretty funny), I found this for six dollars.
With mad props to my man D-Roc, I humbly submit that ye cannae beat that action, kids and kittens.
In other news, the girl and I are fighting about money, but it's only pretend money, so it's all good.

PS Divorce yourself momentarily from the human tragedy and you may have the best headline EVAR!
PPS I wonder what the average length of time that I spend hitting the refresh button after I've posted a new entry is. I do this compulsively as I wait and see if anybody has posted any commentary as I read and re-read for grammatical errors. (Granted, I'm pretty loose about that sort of thing because it's just a blog. But I try to be good. There are standards, people. There have to be standards.)
I also wonder how it would rate against that of the average user here. I'm probably bad. But I suspect I'm nowhere near the worst.
PPPS Fer fuck's sake, it's nearly 4am. Why the hell am I still awake???
