So I survived the weekend sans Bowie.
I'm a little upset with Ticketmaster. 85 bones per ticket and I don't even get an email saying "The concert is cancelled"??? If the gf hadn't happened to hit the Toronto Star's webpage and they didn't happen to mention the cancellation right on the main page... we would have been out bus fare and paid for a rather expensive hotel room, plus all the extra meals and miscellany that travelling entails, and plus we'd both used vacation days at work.
So boo to Ticketmaster! Booo!!!!
So to console ourselves, we just geeked out all weekend, and got very well acquainted with the couch. We marathoned through Season 5 of Buffy (possibly the best yet), I squared off against the XBox to defeat XIII to see possibly the least satisfying game ending I've ever been insulted with, and we wound up going out to a really spiffy sushi place a town over that renews my hope in getting some quality California Rolls in this neck of the woods.
Anyways, we got our first solid blanket of snow this weekend. It's soothing, in a weird way. Must be my Northern roots showing. Probably amplified by the smug knowledge that I don't have to shovel one flake of it.
And that's really about it. It was low-key, but good to have a few days to really just vegetate and regroup. Work is going to be busy, stressful, and really demanding for another several weeks, and it was nice to just put the switch in the 'off' position for a while.
And on that note - off to bed shortly. Hope you all had great weekends that were either infinitely more interesting or exactly as uninteresting as mine - whatever your batteries needed.
