Apartment hunting continues. The damned things are being snatched up in the 24 hour windows between when I book a viewing and when I'm supposed to show up for it. I'm really lucky that my amazing friends are still letting me occupy their spare bedroom while I work and rock craigslist, and I absolutely love being able to hang out with them so much. There's actually one place I almost jumped on (it was a C- apartment with an A+ landlord) mainly because it was across the street from them. But I'm sure they'd like their spare room back, and I'd like to be reunited with the rest of my stuff, and have a place of my own.
Plus, I'm keeping the social life lean until I grab a place, so I'm not inclined to go hang out when I should be at viewings. Once I get that tackled, dholokov and I are going to trip the wings fantastic. Mmm.
I know if I sold the car I could find a great apartment in a higher rent bracket with absolutely no effort with the extra money I'd have every month (2 years and change left on the payments, if I recall correctly... I think I could probably pay it off right now, but as my financing is at 0%, I might as well let that money stay in the bank and earn some interest)... but I love my car.
I'm enjoying my new job, although I was told in my interview I'd get to go to California this month, and it turns out that won't be the case. Anybody who remembers back to my job hunting in the summer may recall that I was one last interview away from a job in LA and I really had my heart set on moving out there, but it fell apart while I was securing a passport. Looks like Cali will probably elude me for yet another year. Drat! I've never taken a real vacation before. Maybe I should take matters into my own hands just to go and see what the ocean looks like.
Update: looks like I get to go to Cali after all. Or should I say... Cali ho!
I'm still recovering from the slings and arrows of 2006 and can't do a worthy summary (I don't think anybody is exactly waiting with bated breath to see me put it to bed, but I want to sort of put it into perspective for myself). I miss my dad a lot. That's about all I can say.
I'll give album of the year to Mastodon's Blood Mountain (I listened to the last Coheed record more, but I believe that dropped in '05), and game of the year probably goes to Dead Rising. Zombies + mall + chainsaws = crazy delicious.
Anything else is gonna require way more thought than I can spare at the moment. I hope 2007 is going well for everybody so far!

Lots of hugs and kiss! ... Things will be better before you know it!
