just got back from parkfest '03 here in ny... it was pretty good.
one complaint: 50 cent is too much of a "rock star" for his own good...
anyway the lineup was: the used, finch, thrice, story of the year, freya, coheed and cambria, the movielife, hatebreed... and a million more bands that i did other assorted things while not listening to... one of which being the aforementioned 50 cent.
back to my complaint, though! 50 cent was supposed to do his thing around 3... but he was more than an hour late and they were stalling for him, because they were afraid to throw the crowd into a panic, the hatebreed/50 cent crews weren't really one in the same, so needless to say they didn't want to do anything to make either of them pissed off...
anyway, after 50 shit out a few cheesy rhymes, the rest of the bands got their sets cut short... the used played last and by that time they had to turn down the speakers because of noise complaints or some shit... after maybe 5 songs they were done... the best set of the day (in my opinion, of course) was finch! they played an amazing cover of "stars" by a band called hum.
wow!
