I'm obsessed with the details in people. One of my favorite pastimes is to watch strangers and try and figure out as much as I can about them by simply observing. Sometimes it's little things like they are left handed based on which hand they wear their watch on.
Today on the train I was watching this woman, all dressed in shades of black. Often I see these people and wonder if it's a case of conservatism, or in the case of many people on this site, black is part of the "cool" dress code. I had to grin when she dropped her pen in front of me, bending over to reveal that her underwear was bright yellow with pink polka dots...
Life really does get easier when you calm down and are not in such a rush to live it...

'oh, they're driving to be with their daughter in the hospital cuz she's going to have a baby and that's why they're speeding. they love her.'
but then, i'd turn it around.
'actually, they have a body in the trunk and a neighborhood full of witnesses about two hours down the road. THAT'S why they're speeding...'
i guess it taught me not to assume things about people.
I always watch people... if you stare at someone (deliberately, not just glancing), they can feel it and they'll look back at you. Try it.
