"So you thought you might like to go to the show
To feel that warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow"
"In The Flesh"- Pink Floyd
My liver feels like it's crying for help. Has been a fun and eventful weekend full of mystery and surprise. Saturday we (You Already Know) were playing with The Fratellis at the QMU which was a blast. What with them seemingly being the band to watch at the moment the place was mobbed to the rafters so was the 2nd largest audience we've played to and it went great and was buzztastic. We also unleashed the synth for the first time which seemed fitting as Gary Numan is playing there fairly soon. We then found that someone had left a box of theatrical costumery in our dressing room, from which Vinnie came up with this beautiful ensemble
It's the built in trouser boots that did it for me. He was also on a mission to convince all and sundry that Ronan Keating was ginger, and he didn't care how many random people he had to quiz about it to get his answer. Unfortunately, studying the photographic evidence he has shown us it appears to be true so I have had to accept defeat.
Sunday was also great as my other band Teresa Banks had our first gig, opening an all-day metal festival at the Cathouse. Was surreal to be playing at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, and we aren't really a metal band at all but it still seemed to go down really well and for a first show went super smooth. Was nice to get up and sing my wee heart out, had forgotten how satisfying that can be. I was apprehensive as I've never played in a band where I'm the sole guitarist on stage and a couple of years ago I would never have had the confidence to do it, I think with the YAK guys being so encouraging they've finally convinced me I can play guitar. Even if I can't, it's a nice feeling. Dunc and Amy played a blinder and I look forward to more Banks gigs.
However, for now sleep beckons
