So then...last night I got asked to be a judge for a battle of the bands. I've been to/competed in several of these events over the years and always thought "those judges are out of their minds!"
Now I realize how fucking hard it is to judge them.
The worst part: my friend's band was competing. No matter how I scored them, there would certainly be the people that would say "he knows them? oh sure, they're going to win anyway" I warned them beforehand that I was going to be extra critical so as not to be biased. Turns out, I actually gave them the lowest score of all the judges.
Good thing they still won.
