Even after all this time, I am still completely overwhelmed by Led Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying". To me, that song has every single element of what made Zeppelin so incredible. But the thing that ALWAYS brings me to my knees is the part when the tempo picks up and John Bonham declares himself drum God. That break is perhaps my favorite break to any song and Bonham's drumming commands the entire enterprise. Led Zeppelin was my first "obsession" band and they still remain an obsession band in so many ways. John Bonham's drumming on this track told me that rock was so important and it was such a force to be reckoned with.

If he only knew what he has done for me as a musician. Oh man. I just hope he's watching...
