well hello there lil doggy:
how cool is it that music and sound is caused by vibration? today i was thinking about piano, especially matthew shipp and brad mehldau. i was thinking about how the piano is really a percussion instrument. i find that incredibly brilliant. most classicists would put down the idea of the piano just simply being a percussion instrument, because to them a timpani is not nearly as beautiful and elegant as a steinway. and i thought about guitar and how sound is produced from just a certain touch of impact and that decides the emotion of the piece. such power just from striking something or just gently breezing over something... the fact that everything is always in constant motion is fantastic and graceful, in a way.
oh.. one of my favorite lines from On The Road:
"Dust rose to the stars together with every sad music on earth."
damn... kerouac... thanks.
Q: what is your favorite instrument(s) and why?

Have you read any other Kerouac? I've only read On the Road and Dharma Bums...
I love the way they sound like a howl.
