PHONE ADVENTURES
Today started of a bit fast!
For some odd reason, I awoke and immediately started looking for my phone...couldn't find it.
I jumped from my bed like I wasn't pregnant and hunted for it on the floor....no luck.
Frantically, I threw back the covers to reveal nothing and checked under the pillows...nope..
I flew down the hallway like there was an urgent reason as to why I needed my phone...
Into the kitchen I went, checked the time on the stove and turned to verify it on the microwave, phew!, it was only 6:17 am. I had 13 minutes to find my phone!!
Like a mad woman, I darted into the living room to check my purse, which was on the deep freezer. Why did I leave it here? I always take it to my bedroom at night...hmmm
No luck...the phone wasn't in my purse.
Knowing the time, took a bit of the edge off, but I still needed to get to my phone before 6:30!
I patiently fast-walked thru the maze of boxes in the living room, around the corner, almost bumped into a shelf, and back down the hallway to my darkened bedroom.
Silently, I closed my door because I did NOT want to awake the children, who's rooms are directly across the hall from mine. I flicked on my overhead light and went to work looking for my phone again.... Not knowing if time was passing quickly... I rushed to the bed and decided to make it nice and by doing so, clearing my fogged head to clearly think.
I directly remember going to bed with my phone, setting the alarm ( I hate that loud alarm). But I also remember giving my husband a grand ole time before shutting my eyes.... Honestly, I couldn't remember putting my phone on the headboard...I just looked there, it wasn't there!
So, I continue to make my bed and there it is!!! Sitting peculiarly at the foot of the bed ready to fall to the floor. How did it get there? I asked myself. Well, I said, obviously I had a damn good time giving my husband a full mouth inspection down below last night because my head hit the pillow fast and I was snoozing in no time.
Obviously, I kicked it down there in our throw of passion and don't remember, heck, didn't even care to find it before I slept...
You ask, what was the reason why you were looking for you phone so frantically in the first place?
Because my alarm is set to go off at exactly 6:30 am and it is terribly loud. For some odd reason, I was up early and didn't want to hear it. That's why. That is my story. I found it, and when I checked the time on it, it was 6:20. I still had 10 minutes to spare! YAY!!
REFLECTING
After finding my phone, I made myself a pot of steaming coffee and sat at my office desk to start the day.
As I looked over at the calendar, I noticed that next week is our last full week in Kentucky. I was shocked that the days were able to sneak in that fast. At the same time I was excited to know that I will be in a new home, in a new town soon. Then it hit me, I'm leaving my friends here to make new ones there...I sat, sipping my coffee and reflecting. Amazingly, I didn't get sad but happy. I will have pen pals now. Friends from afar that I can call, write, visit. A reason to travel. Yes, I'm happy.
Kentucky has been good to us for these past 3 years and now Its time to leave our mark here and move on to Kansas. Here we come!!!
