work was fun last night, i had plently of visitors which is always much appreciated. especially when they bring lollipops. my boss came by after closing to take me for a ride in his big red sports car (this isn't as dodgy as it sounds, i promise) to look at new sites for the shop because it's pretty much a given that the bank is going to sell it. because the world really needs another fucking estate agents, right?
so the main one we looked at is cute, its pretty much a corner shop which is good because it sticks out like a sore thumb and if we're relocating it's that sore thumb quality that's needed. also, it's just up the road from a theatre, so if i can persuade him to let me have a decent library of old films, we might even pull in some new, discerning customers. as opposed to the scores of students who want to know why we don't have van wilder on dvd. well, the simple answer is some idiot student sat on it and broke it. and excuse me if i don't want to waste money buying a new one.
it's still all up in the air, but we should know for sure whether our shop has been sold on by tomorrow. my boss is talking like i'm still going to run the new one, but i'm really not sure. the hours are sort of getting to me (probably because it's winter) and i figure it's maybe time i grew up and got a proper job. the student loans people are on my case cause i have to start repayments this april so i need to think seriously. but at the same time, i don't want to end up in some shitty office with windows that don't even open, even if the money is marginally better...
it's just a shame integrity doesn't pay the bills. meh.
