Jam has been asked to leave the site:
This is from an email from Spooky - You can choose to no longer post, or I can remove your account, which would you prefer?
Asking Jam to leave is affecting others too, myself included, and there are people who appreciate and support us. Of course he has had disagreements with people, as in life. But shouldnt these disagreements be weighed against the positive influence he has brought?
I find it very disturbing that if one can have a dispute for political or religious reasons, and be silenced under the guise of complaints. What ever happened to free speech? Isnt this a liberal web site?
I am all for moderation, its often necessary but there is a very big difference between moderation and out right censorship. Sure, if someone is sexually threatening, or something to that effect, then they should be warned and then removed based on this behavior. But for someone to be removed because people disagree with him or her intellectually is a farce. So, to paraphrase Inez, how can the moderator alienate paying customers without justification?
Ok, what does everyone have to say about censorship? How about the panoptic regime?
I wont create a thread about this, but I definitely think its a topic worth discussing.

i also have no idea what the relationship is between you and jam. i really hope, for your sake, that the accusations against him are false or exaggerated. it sucks when people don't like someone you care about, but it sucks even more when you discover that the person isn't who you thought he is.
on another note, i'm also disturbed by the idea of being thrown off the site for what's posted on the boards. now i'm paranoid and afraid to say ANYTHING. with this community growing as large as it is, there's going to be a few people that are going to be offended on the boards, no matter what's said.
...oh, and i'm glad you liked my story, sumgirl
