It was a steamy hot day in Minnesota.
I was on the way to meet and shoot with @allouraborealis.
We'd never met but we'd chatted and the vibe seemed cool and groovy and the idea of collaborating together just seemed to make sense.
We met in the small town she lives near.
The excitement in creating something from scratch was more and more powerful with each passing minute.
We talked about creative perspectives, ideas and inspirations and settled on the idea of just rocking it with a basic game plan and our collective imaginations.
It didn't take long and we were at it.
Blazing images in the summer heat, sweat and random ideas flying in all directions.
I liked her immediately.
She was creative, fun-loving and ready to try whatever ideas we came up with.
We just made it up as we went along.
I love shooting like that. Don't get me wrong I love planning too but sometimes the best shoots are the impromptu ones and when you can reach a creative symmetry things just tend to rock.
I love her curves, and that she had a comfortability in what we were creating.
She had several super cool set possibilities on her property.
All with natural light, which I love.
We went with a baby oil and water theme - although the water was something we developed late in the session to cool her down in the summer haze.
Her eyes are stunning.
She looks right through the camera.
As the temperature seared Alloura came into her own.
The more we shot the more she rocked.
The randomness of the shoot and the improv nature of it made the whole experience more epic.
I can't thank her enough for collaborating with me and producing a set from our art.
There's a thrill and a faith that collide in shooting someone like this.
You both have to be on the same page and have the same end goal - to create something magical.
I'm so excited to see what she reveals and how the set comes out.
And mostly I'm just grateful.
For the experience and for the belief in the process.
You rock girl...
