Movie Review: My Bloody Valentine in 3D
I just got back from the movie theater with my friend & his gf. We decided to go to a super-late showing.
This movie is Complete GARBAGE!!!
Not many ppl knowin fact, no one I spoke to about this has even heard of the original My Bloody Valentine from 1981. I remember watching the original movie on USA networks Up All Night one late Saturday night in the early 1990s.
This program was hosted by Gilbert Gottfried & Rhonda Shear (they alternated each Saturday night). This show was known for broadcasting cult movies & really really bad movies. So 1981s My Bloody Valentine counts as a really really bad movie.
So anyway, on with the review. I recommend ppl to watch it just because its in 3D. This is the only reason why I wanted to check it out because of the 3D feature. Other than that, I really have no interest. The 3D glasses that were given to us were really cool. They look like regular plastic cheap sunglasses that you buy for .99 at any store. I was expecting the usual Red/Blue 3D glasses.
So yeah, this movie has a slightly different plot from the 1981 remake. The killer is a different character, the backstory has been altered & the characters were different. The acting was horrible. It reminds me of the cheesy old movies where everyone seems like a cut-out boardu know, flat & unappealing.
The only redeeming value this movie has are the murder scenes. They are gruesome but you will find yourself laughing at the same time. The identity of the killer leaves you with very few options & itll take you a minute to figure it out. There is a part where you will second guess yourself but just stay with your first instinct. Sherlock Holmes will laugh at the who done it approach.
Ill leave the review at that, I dont wish to spoil anything else for anyone who wants to watch this.
In other news, Im curious at how the reboot Friday the 13th movie will look. This will come out on February 13th. Also, Rob Zombie will begin shooting the sequel to 2007s Halloween in February. Its called H2: Halloween 2 & that will release in theaters on the 28th of August. Im pretty sure at this years San Diego Comic-Con they will say something about Halloween 2.
