Although this Spotify playlist has a variety of artists and genres, I wanted to make special emphasis on our national rock.
And by saying "our" I'm talking about all the people in the world, regardless of your country. Because our rock has influenced many artists and has also been influenced by them.
Once you listen to it, it remains imbued in your soul, it becomes part of you. You may have only heard one song, maybe your ears picked up something in the background, a tiny stanza, but our rock is so powerful that it lingers in your mind and you will be humming its melodies all day.
It's so ours that they lyrics speak of struggle, effort, heartbreaks, love, friendship, many of the emotions that summarize what it's like to be an Argentine, what our country is. But they are also part of each person, of their gene, that is why I insist it's "ours", of everyone, as much as mine as yours. Of that person who listens to it every morning drinking a Mate with cookies, or eating a bread spread with butter and dulce de leche. Of that worker who works hours and hours and only thinks about his dreams, those dream that one day will be able to fullfil. Of the students who prepares every work for days in their tiny little bedrooms. Of the peolpe in love who feels identified with their lyrics and dedicates song to their loved one. Of those friends who get together to chat for a couple of hours in the park, eating some bizcochitos or facturas.
It's so ours that sometimes hurts, it burns in our blood.
It's rock, it's Argentine, but also of whoever wants to make it their own.
