Well, I'm eating cutie pies and not quite ready to go to bed yet. So i might as well update.
In the next couple of days i should find out when my first gig is. You guys can't go to this one though because it's the funeral service for the kid who owned the coffee shop that was going to play at. They found his body two days before the show and three days after he disappeared. 20 years old and a really nice guy. I've been practicing really hard for the service and i've been learning leonard cohen's If It Be Your Will. I think that i'll have it down in time.
I've just about spent all of my tax returns on musical gear (a tube amp, a mixer, a vocal mic, a humbucker, a monitor and an acoustic preamp eq) and i think that i might have enough money left over to get a bugle. Ya, a bugle - just an idea i've had for a while that may have reached ripeness. But we'll see, I may be hard up for a source of income soon.
I did a recording session a while back and i just got the final mix back. I did it so i could get a more realistic idea of how bad my singing is. I can hear a lot of room for improvement. A whole mess of room. I was told today about my singing that "It's quirky, but it works. Like Johnny Cash's voice." and i made them take it back. Nobody talks shit about St Cash in front of me. Ya know who i secretly wish i could sing like? Buddy Holly. What about you?
Anyway, I gave a copy of the CD to 'Coffee Time' down the street because a couple of the people working there asked me to play a show but the owner wanted to hear a demo CD first. If that pans out, i'll let you folks know. And if it goes well, then i think that i'll be emboldened to play the PSU park block lunch concert soon. Until then, if you'd like me to email you some *.ogg's (the mp3s of linux!) let me know.

I want to be a stupid happy couple... alittle bit of one at least... but not the kinds of stupid happy couples that always "talk about where this relationship is going..." LOL!!!
