Best Halloween I've had in YEARS.
Saturday we drove down. I still think driving in nyc sucks. Then we checked into the St. Marks Hotel, which would be the smallest room I've ever occupied. My half of my colllege dorm rooms was bigger. There was a giant mirror right next to the bed- which proved to be an omen. We met up with Mike & Tanith and hiked around the area a little, did some shopping without spending any money. I kept going, I had one of those, and one of those, and one of those in all the retro-toy stores. And then I kept seeing $50 toys and $75 toy sets that I wanted, so I had to bail. We had dinner in the Afghan place, and while the food (and tea) was good, the service sucked. That night we got dressed up and went to Downtime- doesn't everybody? I actually had a really good time. I danced a bunch, as much as you can dance with two square feet of floor space. It was really fun. We got back to our room and went to sleep.
Well. We tried. I didn't sleep well because the room was so hot. I was woken up in the morning by the sunlight streaming into the room and some woman somewhere making a lot of noise during sex.
Fortunately, I got some sex later in the morning. We showered, which was difficult. The water would NOT keep a consistent temperature, and the bathroom was so small. We left a note for our friends and took off to have breakfast with Kathleen's mom. Good omelette, good service. Then we went to see the Museum of Modern Art. We took the subway up and found out the place was closed. We didn't know what else to do, since we'd wasted so much time already. So we walked all the way down 5th, looking for some place to go shopping. You know, it's really not all that exciting. We walked all the way down to Canal St, and then back up. We went into a bunch of shoe stores but we didn't buy a thing. I think we walked more than 10 miles, by estimation of the amount of time we spend walking.
But there's no rest for the wicked. We were only back in the hotel room a few minutes before we had to get dressed and go out for something to eat with Mike and Tanith. Falafel, which was good. Then, off to the parade. Which was farther away than everyone thought. There were a LOT of people there. I couldn't possibly describe it. The parade was pretty cool, mostly because I've never seen anything like that before. I took a shitload of pictures. I could've taken more but we all got tired and split. We went to this diner for eats. I got a huge slice of cheesecake. Also good. Then back to the room where everyone started getting dressed for to go to some club, and I just gave up. I was too exhausted to trek BACK across St. Mark's to go to an expensive club for one lousy hour. So I wussed out on that and went to sleep. Or tried.
Not five minutes after everybody left this woman starts making all this sex noise. Bad noise. Lots of "Oh baby" and "yeah" and "shit yeah" and it sounded pretty fake and was over really quick. Kathleen came home drunk as hell and talked my ear off for a while. Then we had stripped and had sex.
I heard that woman again, later that night. And again in the morning, and that time someone beat on their door and told them to shut up.
So that would make it Monday morning. We slept later than we should have and had to scramble. We got lucky with the shower and checked out by 11am. We met up with Mike and Tanith for breakfast, then got on the road. We made it back here around 3, I got a HUGE box of goodies from my mom. Kathleen got hyped up on sugar and told me she wanted an orgasm, so we had some great sex.
Maybe I'm leaving some stuff out but that's just what comes to me. I had SO much fun. The only thing I regret is that I didn't get to see Tanith in that super short red vinyl outfit, and that I have NO pictures of anyone in costume. And none of myself, either, obviously. But hey- I still had a blast. Now I've got to go. I told myself I'd only spend an hour on the internet tonight and I'm over that already. Toodles.

I only got three picture of me in my costume and they all suck, but but this one is the better of them.
I'm surprised that I liked the trapeze burlesque show.
