Yesterday was my second of four Portrait Rendering classes. It's cool. I got some compliments, which is neat. I like what we've been doing. Spending 20 minutes just trying to get the features in the right place. No details, just layout and orientation, proportion, placement. The things I need to work on. So it's good to spend 20 minutes just getting the eyes in the right place, getting the shape of the face right. Like van_hammersly said once, once you get that right, even a monkey can fill in the details. And these models. These are women I probably wouldn't have looked twice at if I saw them in public. But when you're staring at them, intently, for hours... You become so familiar with their faces that you KNOW them. It's intimate, in a way. And after hours and hours of this you begin to see how lovely they are. Studying them is just so... engaging.
In other news, I got a job.

You really know how to make a girl feel special.
