HOLLA! HOLIDAYS!
The weather has been seriously shitty but that hasn't impeded the adventures too much. Today discobat and I started digging up our garden plot in preparation to sow July crops (once this cycle of gale force winds, torrential rain and sudden hailstorms passes). The seeds we bought: rocket, snow peas, mustard greens, wong bok, carrots, kale, endive, parsnip, kohl rabi, spinach, radish and sugar snap peas. Also bought two baby strawberry plants and were gifted some spring onion seedlings from a friend. Now just need to clear the rest of the plot, turn soil over, mix in compost, buy gravel for planter boxes and plant the damn things. Saw so many worms today - so exciting!!! Also today: decluttering, baking of coconut & cherry vegan GF cupcakes, 3000 word email to sister, attempts to hula hoop indoors. Not to mention this morning's brunch feast, named the Tom Waits - grilled mushroom steaks and insanely delicious home fries.
Been infinitely more social since returning from the research trip - it's like something clicked over in my brain and I realised what a weirdo I've been lately. Maybe I really did have S.A.D. and the sunshine cured me. I still get a bit fried from not enough time alone but I know that really, it's healthier for me and my relationship to let other people in to this little bubble I like to create.
We're headed to Cape Jervis this weekend for some camping good times. Soooo excited for beautiful mallee scrub, ocean vistas, camp fire, listening to the rain on our tent, catching up with old friends, hiking part of the Heysen trail. Then next weekend it's Port Lowly for the giant cuttlefish breeding. Hopefully more success this year, last time I went they'd all died already (lovely). Lots of other travel plans marinating in this crazy brain of mine but they'll have to wait as CASH RULES EVERYTHING. At least I've managed to pick up some work in my actual field. An 8 week contact from August that should get me out of debt and into savings - YES!
Now that we have the internet at home I can actually use SG properly - it's been a while! I'll leave this ramblethon of a post at that. More soon.
Abundant well wishes xx

Aw thank you for that comment - it made me smile. You're completely right about the fact that I have support and good wishes from all over and I never really thought of it that way, so thank you for the perspective.

tur-mer-ic. i started saying "tumeric" when i was in australia too, but was corrected viciously upon my return home! same with "tomato" and a few other words. i absorb accents really easily.
