Ok, whilst waiting for my laundry to finish I will write something a bit more substantial about my current circumstances!!
I can't really remember when my account ran out but I've been living cheaply by the beach in Adelaide since I got back from the States.... until 5 days ago that is. I'm now a resident of Launceston, Tasmania! You read correctly: the isle of apples, the adventure state, home to Gunns Limited, little cancer stricken devils and delicious blueberries.
I'm doing a Master of Applied Science with Honours at the AMC (Australian Maritime College, or, more accurately, Australian Men's College - there's rarely another woman in sight). My focus is Marine Conservation. I start classes on Monday but so far the course seems AMAZING! It feels good to be back to school. My brain was slowly decomposing inside my skull.
Launcseton in general seems pretty cool - the weather is suprisingly lovely, the people are friendly, the air is fressssshhhhhhh. The main bummer is there not being a beach anywhere nearby.
My boyfriend Brad is moving out here in about 6 weeks and bringing his van, then we can take some day trips and I'll get to see more of the island. I'm pretty frickin excited. I love exploring a new place. I'm glad I got my shit together and moved on with my life.
Today I met up with my friend Zac, who is here visitng family. We went to city park and looked at the Japanese Macaque monkeys, and had mexican lunch (yesssss, margaritas!!).
I'm glad to be back on the site. So much catching up to do!!!
