Lets talk about work. but first lets talk about work.
I am a community organizer with Working America. So my job is to take on the issues of affordable healthcare, ohio's unemployment/job loss and the funding of our school systems.
Fun facts about each: (impress your friends with your politcal knowledge)
1) 45 million americans are without healthcare. 10 million of those are children. This figure increases dramatically when you add in the americans with HC but not enough (think $1200 deductibles and no dental/vision etc).
2) SCHIP- State Childrens Health Insurance Program covers about 6-8million kids. These are younglings whose parents make too much for welfare/medicare but not enough to afford private HC. This program is set to be underfunded by 25 Billion (yes thats 25,000,000,000) which means approximately 4million kids go with out doctor care.
3) 1 out of every ten jobs that have been lost in the US (over 2 million) has been right here from Ohio. Thats a quarter of a million people outsourced.
4) 4 times the current system of funding for our local schools has been deemed unconstitutional. Current graduation rates in some districts in cleveland are less than 50%. If the student does graduate, on average, it is with a sophomore level of education. a full two years behind.
What else. I like my job.Good people. Great cause. a nice warm feeling that i might actually be doing something worthwhile.
Oh. But while working I got robbed at gun point.

I hope he is anally raped by an aids infested inmate named Tiny.

Saturday-
Mud volleyball tourney again.
We placed third, losing to the same team that beat us at the first tourney. Those guys are good. Picture will be forthcoming because it was fricking ridiculous the amount of mud in the various places.
I met a girl.
...but don't i always? seriously, " I'm not a player, i just crush a lot"

Soccer has finally resumed. HOORAY!
but we lost game 1. that sucked. we lost bad.
oh well right?
I wanna do something sometime...I mean for fun.
