So did anyone see Heroes and The Black Donnellys tonite? Fucking awesome.
Well I do have some good news. After a bunch of crappy auditions and very awkward callbacks, I booked a gig for the show A Haunting as the ghost of a civil war soldier. It's nothing major, but it always helps the resume.
Yeah, so to clarify on the awkward callbacks, I auditioned for this play and got a callback for the lead roles which I thought went really well. So then a month goes by and no one, I mean no one knows whats going on. My agent has no idea if the show is even gonna happen. About a week ago, I finally get a call from the assistant director who tell me that the director has left the project and was in limbo for a month, but it's okay cause now he is the director. Okay, that's fine. I can deal with that. Then he tells me that the show has been rewritten. I later find out that it's been rewrtten because the writer of the book wasn't happy with the way it was done, so ties were severed and the story was redone. Okay, not so cool anymore. Then I find out that I'm getting a smaller part then I had callbacks for. Okay, really not fine at this point. But the money is there or is it? See I was told that they pay would be around 500 bucks a week and then later told that it would be 700 a week. Not anymore because I then found out the pay was 100 a week for a 10 week rehearsal period and 300 a week for a 17 week run. That's been the kinda stuff that I've been dealing with in Norfolk. I mean I don't mind not getting paid for theatre work, but if money has been negotiated with my agent at least follow through with what you told me originally There's my rant. Thanks for reading.
