Our president the idiot
I wonder how long the republican party can stand to be led by the religous right. I wonder how long before true conservatives and smart republicans (there are a few) will finally stand up and make their voice heard. It's hard for me sometimes to not consider all republicans idiots. Very hard. There's a lot of evidence to the contrary out there.

Now where did I put my black flag........

Will America ever learn from it's history? Pay attention folks, like this guy says, we are living history, right here, right now.

Ralph Reed as lt. governor of georgia? I've been wondering why he hasn't been in more trouble here in Georgia for his role in the Abramoff Indian casino scam. New Donkey has some thoughts.

This is the buzz this morning out on the internets. True? I don't know. I can only imagine something this big would hit the mainstream news organizations, unless they were trying to bury it. It's too big to bury though. I'll have my fingers crossed throughout the day, hoping it's true.

I know that John Roberts is going to the Supreme Court. I don't think there is any hope of stopping him, and I know he has his answers down pat and ready to go, but it still gives me a little hope to see stuff like this:
"In response to a question about his views on "judicial activism," Roberts pledged to stay faithful to the Constitution, the law and legal precedents.
"Judges must be aware that their role, while important, is limited," he wrote. "They do not have a commission to solve society's problems, as they see them, but simply to decide cases before them according to the rule of law."
But Roberts also said he would be willing to rein in officials from the legislative or executive branches of government if they overstepped their authority.
"It is not `judicial activism' when the courts carry out their constitutionally-assigned function and overturn a decision of the executive or legislature," he said.

I'm not saying he's perfect, or that I even like him, I'm just a little bit more hopeful.

Last night the unthinkable happened. As I was flipping through channels trying to find something to watch as I ate my maccaroni and cheese I actually passed by Law and Order. Not only did I pass it by but I actually thought to myself "I don't really want to watch Law and Order". This is a first for me. I'm not saying I'll never watch it again or that it's not a great show, but I think my Law and Order cup overfloweth.
