So, Download 2011 was pretty freakin' awesome. Just what I needed to start my week off work and meant that I got a good amount of drinking in!
Anyway, the free passes turned out to be VIP and got us in the media camping area (which meant decent toilets and showers all weekend), not only this, but due to some top quality blagging we also had access to the Jaegermeister truck (along with a shit load of free drinks) and the Classic Rock tent (which was in the VIP area...) for the after parties.
Anyway, time for some pics:
I got on the drinking before we even started setting up the tent, I figured it was rude not to...
For some bizarre reason these were the cheapest camp chairs in Tesco...
A shot of the view from the top of the Jaeger truck.
The many wristbands we had.
By this point, I may have had a few too many drinks... But yeah, that's me and Slayer's PA - we spent quite a lot of time talking. I may have "stolen" her from a group of people which included her boyfriend (the guitarist from Children of Bodom - who introduced himself a little later...), but they were clearly boring and she had a much better time bantering with us!
The night kind of got a little hazy after that, I've no idea what time I stumbled to bed or even how I managed to find our tent.
As for the bands... Well, Pendulum were epic, Alice Cooper was unbelievably good, SOAD were ok (I'm not a massive fan to be honest - we caught the back end of the set), Down were awesome and Skunk Anansie - wow! I forget the name of half the bands I saw and if I'm brutally honest, I was a little bit too drunk to remember some of them!
Overall though, epic weekend with some epic people. Making a few new friend is always good as well! Did anyone else go along?

2. To be with the boy.
3. To finally be happy.
Standard fairytale.
